Padlock Removal & Storage Unit Lockouts
Lost the key to a storage unit, shed, gate, or trailer padlock? We open it — picked where possible, cut where not — and can fit a better lock on the spot.
What we offer
Padlock Removal you can count on
Padlocks guard a lot in Central Florida: storage units, sheds, pasture and driveway gates, trailers, and boat lifts. When the key goes missing, cutting the lock is usually quickest, but it isn't always the only option — many padlocks can be picked or decoded so a new key can be cut and the lock kept. Before we open anything, we confirm it's yours: photo ID, plus the rental agreement for a storage unit or proof of the property for a gate or shed.
Storage unit lockouts
Bring your rental agreement and photo ID. Many facilities also want their manager to confirm the unit or be present — check with your facility first. We won't remove a lock the facility itself has placed on a unit; that's a matter to settle with the facility.
Gates, sheds & outbuildings
Rural Marion County properties run on padlocks — pasture gates, barns, well houses, detached garages. We open them on-site and can key several padlocks alike so one key works the whole property.
Trailers & equipment
Hitch locks, coupler locks, and trailer door padlocks opened, with new keys cut where the lock is worth keeping.
A better lock afterward
A lock that has to be cut is a good moment to upgrade. A shrouded or closed-shackle padlock is far harder to cut than the standard type most units are sold with.
How we quote
You get the price before we start
What a job costs depends on what actually failed, the hardware it needs, and where you are. Those change the number enough that posting a range here would mislead as often as it helped.
So we look first, tell you exactly what the work involves, and give you the price before anything starts. If it doesn't work for you, you're free to say no.

Frequently asked questions
Can a locksmith open my storage unit if I lost the key?+
Yes, with proof the unit is yours: a photo ID and the rental agreement in your name. Many storage facilities also have their own rules about lock removal, so call your facility first — some want the manager to confirm the unit or be present.
Do you have to cut the padlock?+
Not always. Many padlocks can be picked or decoded, so a new key can be cut and the lock kept. High-security and some cheap padlocks are faster and cheaper to cut and replace. We'll tell you which makes more sense for your lock before we start.
Can you remove a lock the storage facility put on my unit?+
No. A facility's own lock on a unit, often called an overlock, is placed by the facility, usually over a past-due balance. Removing it is between you and the facility — talk to them directly.
Can you key all my padlocks to one key?+
Yes. For a property with several gates and sheds, we can supply padlocks keyed alike, or rekey compatible padlocks you already own, so one key opens everything.
